27TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Questions for the Week:
FIRST READING: HABAKKUK 1:2-3,2:2-4
The prophet Habakkuk is encouraged to be patient and trust in the Lord’s timing. Is patience one of your virtues?
SECOND READING: 2 TIMOTHY 1:6-8,13-14
Paul urges Timothy to live his life of faith with courage and self-control, especially in difficult situations. How might you support a family member or friend struggling this week?
GOSPEL: LUKE 17:5-10
Jesus taught the Apostles that one way to increase your faith is to have the attitude of a servant. How would you describe your attitude most days?

A Word from Fr Danny:
Have we ever prayed intentionally, as the Apostles do in the Gospel today: “Increase our faith”? It is a striking request, for they had the Lord Himself standing before them. Increase our faith—in what, and in whom? Perhaps there is an invitation here for us as well. We too have the Lord before us, most especially in the Eucharist. Perhaps the invitation is to cry out to God: “Increase my faith in the Eucharist.”
There are some practical steps we can take in this regard. When we enter and leave the church, do we genuflect before the Lord present in the Tabernacle? Before receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion, do we examine our conscience? Do we make an act of reverence—such as a bow—before receiving Him? And after receiving Him, do we make an act of thanksgiving: a moment of deep prayer, thanking Christ for giving Himself to us and asking that His presence bear fruit in our lives?
- Fr Danny
Thank you all for the trust and generosity you showed in last year’s appeal. Together, we supported people and places where the love of Christ is needed most — from chaplaincy and Catholic education, to family outreach and faith formation.
This year, our campaign is titled ‘Planted in Christ, Reaching in Love.’ It is a call to remain firmly grounded in our relationship with Jesus and, from that place of strength, extend ourselves to others with care, mercy, and hope.
Your gift will help carry out this mission through:
▪ Supporting clergy and lay formation
▪ Enriching Catholic identity in our schools and parishes
▪ Providing chaplaincy and outreach to the sick, the struggling, and the seeking
In every parish, in every home, in every heart, we’re called to grow deeper and reach further. Please prayerfully consider a donation to this year’s Appeal.
Every gift — no matter the size — helps build a Church that is alive in Christ and present in love.
Envelopes with further information including details on how to donate are available in the Church foyer or click the button below to donate online.
