Connect Groups
At Tongariro Catholic, we have several Connect Groups designed to connect people together for fellowship and support – so that our parish becomes a community of communities. If you have an idea for a new Connect Group get in touch!
Depth Charge
This group meets weekly on a Wednesday at 10am during the school term for those interested in delving deeper into discussions of faith using engaging resources from Word on Fire.
Endurance Connect
This is a mens group that meets weekly on a Thursday evening at 7pm during the school term.
Tim Tam Connect
Tim Tam Connect meets on the first Monday of the month at 10:00am in the café. Rather than all reading the same book at the same time, the purpose of this group is to share our favourite books and authors – whatever is on your bedside table that week. Everyone is welcome!
Purl Connect
Purl connect is a knitting (and sometimes sewing) group.
We meet on a thursday afternoon and mostly knit woollen blankets, baby singlets and hats for prem or new born babies, which are then forwarded to the local maternity hospital. Everyone is welcome!
Youth Groups
Youth Group: Years 7-9 meet at the Church for youth group every Tuesday of school term from 6:00-7:15 to connect, play games, share food and insight to the basics of the Catholic faith.
Young Adults Juniors: Years 9-13 meet in the Old Presbytery House for young adults every Tuesday of school term from 7:15-8:15 to connect, play games, share food, pray together and dive deep into our Catholic faith.
