You give many great gifts to your children. This is your chance to take a step towards giving them the greatest gift – the gift of Faith.
The Sacrament of Baptism marks the beginning of our life of faith.
In Baptism, we are welcomed into God’s family and begin the journey of getting to know and understand the meaning of God’s love. The seed of faith is planted at baptism and nurtured within the family and the faith community.
PREPARING TOGETHER
Sunday Mass:
Sunday Mass is the centre of our life as Catholics. It is the time our community gathers together to worship and pray; to listen to the word of God and receive the Eucharist. Therefore it is important that in preparing to being baptised the family comes along to Sunday Mass. For those of you for whom Mass is unfamiliar, we will walk alongside you as we welcome your family into our community.
Sessions:
Preparation sessions will be held after Sunday mass in Taupō, and in Turangi by arrangement.
CELEBRATING TOGETHER
Celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism
At Tongariro Catholic your child is welcomed into our parish family – we celebrate baptisms on Sundays at 9am Mass in Taupō or on Saturdays at 5pm Mass in Turangi. We encourage you to invite friends and family to this special celebration.
Baptism is not the goal at the end of a program, rather, the beginning of an adventure of faith for the whole family.
